Once called the Big Mountain in northwestern Montana, Whitefish Mountain Resort offers spectacular views of Glacier National Park and Flathead National Forest. There are plenty of trails leading into Montana’s back-country where the sound of skis sliding over snow is the only thing you’ll hear. One of the beauties of a state as open and free as Montana is that activities you wouldn’t (or couldn’t) consider elsewhere suddenly become possible if you are brave enough.
